Mrs. C. and Mrs. Walsh Seager 3's Oct. 28

                                                     HALLOWEEN  FUN

Thank you for joining us for part of the children’s Halloween celebration.  During class we played pin the nose on the jack-o-lantern and in the sensory table black and orange beans were used for lots of scooping and pouring.  Sticky tape was wrapped around a hula hoop to look like a spider web, and the children threw spiders (pom poms) on to the web.  Everyone got a turn to wrap a  mummy  (A.K.A. Mrs. Walsh) from head to toe.

Letters F and G were our special letters these last 2 weeks.  We introduced the letters using the letter tub items, traced the letters in the writing center and at the easel.  The letter F was taped to the table and the children placed tiny frogs on the F using tweezers or their fingers.

They created unique shaving cream ghosts, some choosing to use a popsicle stick instead of their fingers.  Spiders were everywhere at the playdough table using pipe cleaners and wiggle eyes.

They worked on eye hand coordination by lacing ghosts, and traced a pumpkin by following the dots.  In small group, we worked on number correspondence by placing sunflower seeds on numbered pumpkin shapes.

Outside the children raked leaves into piles and then added them to the middle of the parachute for some leaf tossing fun.

Could use a little rest, raking is hard work
