Ms. Caryn and Ms. Michelle 4's MWF Knock Knolls

Dates: October 10th through October 21st

As the fall weather slowly changes, we have been learning all about letters L for leaves and P for pumpkins. We have been on many walks looking for leaves of all different shapes, sizes and colors. Bringing them back to the classroom along with rocks and sticks has been tons of fun and comes in handy when making beautiful artwork.

Every morning we talk about the letter of the week and brainstorm many new words that start with it. Throughout the day, you will often hear us singing "Every letter makes a sound."  We have also started working on a few sight words. So far we have learned: look, like and play. Our sensory and science tables are always crowded. Putting together locks and links was hard work, but very rewarding when completed.

Adding layers of rubber bands and cups was great practice counting and developing motor skills.

We enjoyed pretending to be firefighters while stacking "flames", but putting them "out" by knocking them over was way more fun.

Neptune the fire truck came to visit. The children were full of great questions concerning fire safety and parts of the truck. Getting to sit in the driver seat was an exciting experience.

Pumpkins, Puppets and Patterns. Oh my! So much to do and so little time. Learning about math and social studies while we play never gets boring.

The new listening center was a big hit. Everyone enjoyed wearing headphones to hear the music and stories. We also had two mystery readers join the class and share wonderful stories with us. The children were very excited and appreciative. If you are interested in being a mystery reader in the future, please let us know.

We are so excited for our upcoming Halloween Celebration. The children have been working very hard to get everything ready for you.

Please feel free to send any notes to us in your child's folder. We check them every morning and respond as soon as we can.

Thank You,
Ms. Caryn and Ms. Michelle
