Ms. Theresa and Ms. Susie Pre-K RCC

December 5- December 16

We started off the month with a review of the letters and snap words that we have learned so far.  We then moved on to start with the letter W and learned some new snap words; we, will and want.  We filled up our letter page with words that begin with W and talked about the sound W makes.
We enjoyed reading many books together including, The Jacket I Wear in the Snow, The Missing Mitten, Snow Dance, and The Mitten.  We also had a listening station set up to listen to a story and follow along with the book.

We also talked about ten frames and what a number looks like in a ten frame.  We used our new knowledge of ten frames to play a math snowman game.

On the day that was very cold we had a small class and were able to have a picnic with our snacks on the carpet!  We got to get out our big world map to look at how far India is from where we live because we had some friends who were traveling to India.

We continued with the kitchen for our dramatic play area.  We also kept the cloud dough in the sensory table to make sure everyone had a chance to play with it if they wanted to.  We also enjoyed making some great structures with the blocks and using cars to make the letters on our rug.  We made melted snowman pictures and painted pots for Family Snow Day.  We did a lot of practicing for our performances for Family Snow Day!

Once again we would like to thank our mystery readers for volunteering to read to our class!  The children enjoy guessing who will be reading that day.  We have heard many wonderful stories!

Some  important dates are pajama day on Wednesday, December 21st and
Family Snow Day on Thursday, December 22nd.
