September Preschool Poem
You might ask your child, “What did you do at school today?”
As your child responds gleefully, “I made lots of friends and got to play the whole day.”
And although it is true we play and have fun!
Your child is secretly learning and discovering out in the warm sun.
We are learning to take turns and asking to share.
We are making new friends and showing we care.
We discovered what happens when painting using different size brushes and we are building strong hand muscles by squeezing with glue.
We cut evergreens with scissors, blended oil pastels together, and made colorful patterns using dot markers too.
We built roads out of blocks.
And used bulldozers to move rocks.
We built structures with magnitiles so tall that one nearly touched the sky.
We read aloud books and sing silly songs before saying goodbye.
We hike, we play with the parachute, and we go to the playground as well.
And we have found where worms, bugs, and squirrels like to dwell.
So yes your child is playing, discovering, and having fun.
And you can see from these photos all the learning they have done..
Dramatic play with construction trucks. We dug holes in the dirt and used trucks to smooth out the ground to make roads. |
|
We built many structures together with magnitiles. We even pretended to have a few earthquakes and some tumbled to the ground. |
|
There was a Dino dig in the sensory table. Using small shovels and brushes we uncovered dinosaur eggs and fossils buried in the dirt. |
|
construction tools and blocks |
Beautiful thing art.
|
We practiced perseverance and fine motor by lacing leaves with yarn. |
We used scissors to cut straws in the sensory table. We cut paper at the easel. We also cut evergreens and leaves at the table. |
Working together on group puzzles. |
