New Explorations in Room 101 with Mrs. Boyle and Mrs. Melby

Pre-K Room 101 Mrs. Boyle and Mrs. Melby
Wind & Weather Unit
March 2021

These past four weeks were full of fun experiences throughout our room.  We learned about wind and weather and what it means to be waterproof. In addition, we learned about animals and their habitats. In dramatic play, but we not only learned how to take care of animals but we also pretended to be them.  Through these experiences the children are blossoming individually while creating bonds with each other. It is so amazing to watch.

In the block center we created homes for the animals.

In dramatic play we had a vet center.  This is where we learned all about how to take care of our pets.

At the art table we created storm paintings and created our bunny habitats.

We also painted under the tables while talking about "u".

Whether we are painting, drawing with crayons and markers or something a little more unusual the easel is a place where the children love to use their imagination to create.

In Science, we learned about absorption and what it means to be waterproof.

We also learned about precipitation when we did the cloud experiment in class.

In the sensory table we created an arctic animal habitat and we dug for insects in the dirt. No matter what we have in there our kids always love it.

As the weather is getting nicer we will be getting out more.  This day we decided to take our liquid watercolors and spray paint the snow.  It turned out to be a very beautiful rainbow that we all loved to create.

Thank you for allowing us to spend this precious time with your children.  They are all truly great kids and we enjoy very minute that we have with them.
